Haydn H. Murray, elected to National Academy of Engineering,
USA, and also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of MinTech,
is an internationally renowned expert in the industrial minerals
field. Dr. Murray brings many years of experience in industrial
minerals and business operations to MinTech. He was professor of
geology at Indiana University for more than twenty-five years and
served as Chairman of the Department of Geological Sciences for
twelve years while there. At Georgia Kaolin Company (then the largest kaolin company in the United States) from 1957 to 1973 he held senior positions in research and operations and served as Executive Vice President from 1964 to 1973. He has served as president of the Clay Minerals Society, SME, and AIPEA (International Clay minerals Society) and is a distinguished member of AIME and SME. The numerous honors and awards that he has received have shown that he is and has been a key figure in industrial minerals worldwide.
Richard H. Zhou, President, CEO, and Director of MinTech and general manager of MinTech (Tianjin) Mineral Co., Ltd., has studied and worked on industrial minerals for more than twenty years. For two and half years he was employed at a US company, where he spent a considerable time on developing new applications for attapulgite and providing technical service to customers. He majored in industrial minerals at Indiana University. His Ph.D. dissertation at Indiana University deals specifically with the Guanshan deposit, which is currently being mined and processed by one of the principal joint venture partners. Richard H. Zhou possesses expertise regarding the attapulgite deposits and has an in-depth understanding of the applications and markets for attapulgite and other industrial minerals. Dr. Zhou's extensive study and research on attapulgite and other industrial minerals and the two and one-half years experience in a US Company's quality assurance lab were invaluable and represent a major advantage for MinTech in terms of its ability to guarantee product quality and uniformity for its customers. Being western-educated with a Chinese background, Dr. Zhou is able to combine knowledge of Western business and concept of quality products with an understanding of Chinese people that is critical to the company's successful operation.
